We know...it's been a hot minute since we have done a blog post, but we have had a few things going on. The biggest of which is our new location in Madrona! We are thrilled to be in our new space on the main drag at 1137 34th Avenue and we also couldn't be more pleased with having the folks at Driftwood Boutique be our neighbors...thank goodness, because the walls in this old space are paper thin!
It actually happens to be the space I had had been eyeing over a year ago, but space is few and far between in this neighborhood and often is gone before you blink an eye so I guess the old saying is true that good things come to those who wait.
Other than my best four legged customer, Rufus, who comes by for his (almost daily) treat, my favorite thing about the new shop is the late mornings as the eastern facing windows bring the best light and the neighborhood is just waking up with dog walkers, pilates regulars at Conscious Body and plenty of traveling hands full of coffee from Verite/Cupcake Royal.
We kept much of our signature workshop chic aesthetic of the original location, but utilized the materials in different applications. Anthony probably still has splinters from ripping apart the old wood pallets that now clad the south wall giving it a roughened texture and warmth. Movable canvas panels mounted over exposed metal display framework add another layer of interest and softness to the simple space. Finds from Earthwise and Second Use are our go-to secret to making the space unique, like the old wood doors now our feature mirror and the windows that frame the transaction desk.
If you haven't had a chance to come visit yet, put it on your list! Spring is here and bringing new items to the shelves. We have made many new friends in the few weeks we have been here and always are happy to see familiar faces, so see you soon!
Cheers - H+A
